Mohawk
was presented with a triangular freestanding display
concept that was unique in it's graceful curved forms.
The problem was how to manufacture the display while
maintaining it's distinctive style.
The
solution was to use curved flat panels that fit into
slotted flat wood surfaces. The heavy ceramic tile product
required a steel structure for support. It's center
post joined a steel tube frame concealed in the base.
Setting
up the 3-dimensional computer flies for automated manufacture
was accomplished by using the Solidworks program to
"flatten" the curves and generate accurate
full size patterns.
